Meet our Feel Good Teachers!
Kristen Kridelbaugh
I grew up on the coast of Oregon where I developed a passion for expressing myself through dance. Over the past 12 years, a career in dance has brought me to study and perform in ballet, modern, ballroom, hip hop, belly dance and classical Indian. At 19 I discovered hot yoga and quickly became addicted! Yoga was a means for balancing my demanding dance schedule and helping me grow spiritually. I received my yoga training through CorePowerYoga, where they inspired me to share my passion for yoga by becoming a yoga instructor. I also found the love and deep benefits from Pilates and have been certified in STOTT pilates. I find all these different aspects beautifully weave and support the other in my life.

I grew up watching my dad practice yoga in the living room. When I was 12 my mom took me to my first yoga class and I began teaching yoga in 2002. My classes are informative and challenging. I offer detailed anatomical instructions and hands-on adjustments to help students personalize poses for individual body needs.

I was introduced to Bikram in March of 1997 and went to training in LA in spring of 2001. My sister invited me to a class and at that time I was 26 years old going on 100. I was in chronic pain, mentally and emotionally stressed out and my first class was both terrifying as well as a homecoming. I knew if I could just come to class three times a week things would get better and they did. Before I knew it people were asking me what I was doing. Weight loss was just a bonus. The pain subsided. My mind became clearer. Confidence and courage came easily. Three years later I decided to treat myself to the training with no intention of teaching. To my surprise you couldn’t stop me and here I am, teaching. I work full time as a hair stylist. When I am not taking care of my clients I love to cook, clean(very therapeutic), garden, dance, ski, travel, read and teach!

I began practicing yoga with a Rodney Yee DVD as dryland training with my swim team. I felt the benefits to my body as I was sleeping better and more relaxed. After I took my first Hot Yoga class in high school I was exhilarated by the physical challenge and mental clarity the practice brought. After graduating from Michigan Tech, I felt a pull back to the heated studios. I moved back to Minneapolis in the fall of 2009 where I completed CorePower’s Hot Yoga teacher training and soon followed with Power Vinyasa teacher training as well. While yoga continues to be a great physical practice, teacher training allowed me to find a deeper connection to my practice, which I have only begun to explore. I strive to ‘get comfortable in the uncomfortable’, finding happiness and fulfillment in each moment… whether it is in Dandyamana Janushirasana, adventuring in the snow, or reading a book. I hope to provide a welcoming environment where students find challenge and calm.

I started teaching when I first completed my Bikram Teacher Training in 1995. In 1999 I moved to Kauai and opened Bikram Yoga Kauai, the first Bikram Yoga studio on the island. After 10 years of running the studio, which was so amazing in many ways, I returned to my roots in Portland and started teaching again at The Feel Good World in 2011. I am happy to have gone full-circle and enjoy the community here.I started doing Bikram Yoga in 1995, which then branched out into many other styles of yoga; Ashtanga, Power vinyasa, Anusara, Forrest yoga and Yin. Currently I teach Hot Yoga, Vinyasa and Yin. I love Yoga, whether it is Bikram, Power or Yin. For me it is about connection, focus and breath. I am in full gratitude for this practice, for the studio and for my spirit!

I began teaching at The Feel Good World in August of 2011. I have been practicing the Nia Technique for six years. I find that moving my body the way it was designed to move, combined with music, and clear guidance, create a profound sense of sustainable joy. For me, Nia does not feel like exercise, it feels like play. With Nia, I can maintain a healthy body and have fun at the same time. I am certain that regular practice promotes proper weight maintenance, strengthens muscles and improves tone, relieves stress, improves endurance, strengthens immunity, increases blood circulation, improves posture and grace. Practicing the Nia technique has taught me to love and appreciate the miracle of living in a healthy human body, and I am truly grateful.

In 2004, following severe injuries in a car accident, I received many hours of personal healing sessions from a Qigong healer in Seattle, WA. To my surprise, I witnessed a miraculous transformation. Against almost impossible odds, my health was effectively restored, both in body and mind. I was even able to return to college tennis and continue my education. At the same time, I began to pursue Qigong practice regularly with the ZY Qigong School. I was fortunate to study with my healer and friend Claire Johnson, who eventually guided me to complete teacher training with herself and Grandmaster Mingtang Xu. I started teaching formally in 2007 and have taught in Phoenix, Seattle, Aruba and now Portland. I am forever grateful to my teachers and healers for the infinite support and guidance. I am really excited to share the gifts of Qigong healing and wellness.
