Crunchy Granola – Oasis Style!
Growing up, did you ever hear,
“Breakfast is the most important meal of the day?”
Well, here at the Yummy Tummy Marketplace we know that it sure can feel good and be delicious anytime of the day–especially if it is Christy’s Granola.
In honor of all of you that have crunched on this snack whether for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even as a perfect mid-day snack, here is Christy’s BEHIND THE SCENES recipe that will fill you with get up and go energy!
Christy’s GRANOLA
STEP ONE: Gather ingredients
2-3 apple
2 Tble lemon juice
1 Tble vanilla extract
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp salt
1 cup sunflower seeds (soaked and sprouted)
2 cup pumpkin seeds (soaked and sprouted)
2 cups almonds (soaked and sprouted)
3 cups pecans (soaked and sprouted)
1-cup cranberries/or goji berries
Anything else that sounds yummy like honey, agave, raisins, fruit, coconut…..OH MY!
STEP TWO: Grind up the sticky part
In a food processor, put in apples, lemon juice, vanilla, salt, and 1/2 cup sunflower seeds. Grind until completely smooth. Put mixture in a large bowl.
STEP 3: Grind up the nuts
Add the remaining nuts and seeds to food processor and coarsely chop. Mix nuts to apple mixture.
STEP 4: Dehydrate
Spread on Teflex-lined dehydrator trays and dehydrate at 115 degrees for 6 to 8 hours.

STEP 5: Flip!
Flip the granola over onto mesh screens and dehydrate another 8-12 hours or until desired texture.
STEP 6: Crumble and enjoy.
A Yummy Tummy favorite is adding GRANOLA to our homemade mango yogurt.
